Zac has been friends with Sheldon since they were young boys in Calgary. When we finally got to meet is new girl, Sydney, we loved her! She is such an honest person with the kindest heart. Sydney and Sheldon are perfect together.
When we were photographing a different wedding a couple of years ago (Sheldon's Brothers) Sydney swore to us that she was going to have us photograph her wedding. Of course, we are honored whenever someone says something like that but it's still always a surprise when that person gets engaged and actually has us photograph their wedding! When Sydney and Sheldon got engaged we were beyond excited for them (and to photograph the wedding)!
Even though this wedding took place many miles away from both of their homes you could really feel who Sydney and Sheldon were throughout the whole wedding. The gifts to the bridesmaids and groomsmen were handmade by Sydney. Sheldon's suit was his favorite color, red. Sydney's bouquet was almost literally the Venezuelan flag. I also forgot to mention that they also were ENGAGED in Mexico...so yeah! Very personal and it was an honor to be part of this.
It was so cool seeing the blending of the Canadian and Venezuelan culture. Sydney's mom + sister flew into Cancun from Venezuela and Sheldon's family from Calgary. We can't forget everyone who flew from many different different cities including Miami, Edmonton, Toronto, Texas, and a few other places. The wedding itself was held right on the beach at the The Grand Oasis. Sydney and Sheldon said their I Do's under the hot Mexican sun while the perfect blue waves crashed in the background. After the ceremony and family photos on the beach we wandered around the Grand Oasis to take some perfect images of these two stunners and their super fun wedding party. This was followed by a delicious dinner at the atmospheric Dos Lunas. The night ended in the reception hall...let's just say there was a ton of tequila shots and dancing.
Congratulations Sydney and Sheldon. We love you guys! It's going to be amazing to see you two grow as a couple and family. <3
