Welcome to Ram and Gajra's Hindu wedding! In this blog we are sharing images from their wedding and reception because there is just too must to share in one post! The pre-wedding images will be for another day.
Gajra (aka Beta) to her family is a planner. She wanted everything to be perfect (as most brides do!). Due to hers and Ram's impeccable taste and the help of family, friends, and their amazing wedding planner Shweta of Opulent Events everything turned out just right. The wedding day started bright and early as most Indian weddings do. We were at the Double Tree by Hilton. While Gajra was getting ready the groom arrived for his grand Milni into the Double Tree. This is always such a fun moment of every Indian wedding because of the fun energy - you never know what's going to happen.
After the Milni we moved into the marriage ceremony. Hindu ceremonies are some of the most beautiful because of the all the colors and traditions. An hour and many traditions later they were officially married. After a brief emotional moment as the families sent off the bride for their formal wedding photos we found a beautiful spot in the Edmonton river valley for some wedding party and couple formal photos. We had a great time playing with smoke bombs and partying on top of the Muttart.
Onto the next day - we started at one of our favorite photography locations in Edmonton, the Enjoy Center. It features pretty plants everywhere, gorgeous light, and a nice controlled environment. Here we captured some family photos, more wedding party photos, and couples formal photos.
Then to the party we went - and a party it was! At The Hilton Double Tree M Wedding and Events totally transformed the ballroom where there wedding ceremony was held into an epic reception hall. The hall was complete with purple decor, an awesome Harry Potter wedding cake, and delicious chocolates as a favor. It all ended with a big surprise...a birthday cake!! Once the clock struck 12 it was someone who's very important birthday - Gajras! What a wonderful way to end a wedding. Thanks Gajra and Ram for trusting us with filming and photographing your wedding. It was a blast!
