Amy and Ty, we can not say enough about how awesome these two are. We have known them for a long time and were honored when they wanted us to photograph and film their wedding this summer. We knew it was going to be a great wedding!
Alberta had one of it's rainiest summers in a long time. Amy and Ty are pretty laid back people and went into their day with a "whatever happens, happens!" attitude.
Thankfully they were in that frame of mind because it poured from the minute they walked down the aisle at St Albert Parish Grotto to join together as husband and wife to the moment they started their receiving line. It was more of a challenge to photograph in the rainy weather, but we aren't opposed to a little challenge. By the end of the ceremony I was stoked that it rained because it made for some gorgeous photos with the perfect lighting. (thank you to whoever was holding an umbrella over me for half the ceremony!) Once the receiving line cleared, family photos wrapped up, and the rain died down we headed to downtown Edmonton for pictures at Alexander circle. We were so lucky to have the sunshine come out for this part of the day. After photos we headed over to one of our new favorite reception venues, The Double Tree By Hilton. As soon as Amy and Ty walked into the reception it was nothing but positive energy the whole night. It may have been from the copious amounts of fireball shots, the amazing 5 course plated meal we all enjoyed, or the emotional speeches that had the room in tear - whatever it was, it was great. The night ended with a rockin' dance floor and doughnuts. What a beautiful day and we are so grateful to have been there to celebrate with them.
