Shiksha and Neil - Edmonton Hindu Wedding
In July of 2022, Monikah and I had the honor of capturing the magic of Shiksha and Neil's beautiful Hindu wedding. The wedding festivities kicked off with the traditional Mehndi ceremony, where intricate henna designs were applied to the bride's hands and feet. This intimate gathering was held at the brides parents home and was attended by close family and friends. The warm atmosphere and love in the air made for a truly unforgettable event."
The following day, Shiksha and Neil joined forces to celebrate the joyous Haldi ceremony at the Clarion Hotel in Sherwood Park. As photographers, we always cherish the opportunity to capture the playful and lighthearted moments at joint Haldi events. The night was filled with lively dance performances, where the couple and their guests danced the night away.
The following day marked the grand occasion of Shiksha and Neil's wedding, and we were there to capture every moment. The day began with separate preparations for the bride and groom, complete with intimate pre-ceremony rituals. When both parties arrived at the Clarion Hotel in Sherwood Park, the Barat procession was held, where the bride's family warmly welcomed the groom's family.
After a brief lunch break, the traditional Hindu ceremony began. The ceremony was a breathtaking display of cultural traditions and love, with the couple's families and friends looking on. A highlight of the ceremony was the playful "stealing of the groom's shoes" by the bridesmaids, followed by some lively negotiations to get them back.
The day concluded with a photo session at the Blackhawk Golf Course, where the lush greenery provided a stunning backdrop for the newlyweds. It was an absolutely beautiful location for their wedding photos and a fitting end to a day filled with love and joy.
The final celebration of Shiksha and Neil's wedding was their reception, held once again at the Clarion Hotel in Sherwood Park. After a busy week filled with festivities, the reception was the perfect way to unwind and reflect on the memories made.
The speeches given by loved ones were overflowing with emotion and love, tugging at the heartstrings of all in attendance. The dance performances were simply breathtaking, adding to the already festive atmosphere. And of course, the food was nothing short of amazing, delighting all the guests.
For Monikah and I, it was a privilege to be a part of such a special event. Our warmest congratulations go out to Shiksha and Neil on their beautiful wedding journey.
